We are delighted to report that our new development at Crown Hill, Croydon, is taking shape nicely, and is on track for completion in August 2018!
Here’s what we’re doing, and how the building works are going so far…
Crown Hill is a development of seven luxury flats right in the centre of the London Borough of Croydon. Located on the top floor of an iconic building which once was home to the one of the first British Home Stores branches in the late 1920s, Crown Hill has the convenience and atmosphere of a thriving and bustling community, while remaining a peaceful haven above the street level.
Crown Hill sits on the corner of Church Street and Frith Road, its spacious apartments wrapping around the building. Flats on the Church Street side overlook Surrey Street, a pedestrianised, vibrant market area full of fresh, colourful produce. Records of a market on this site date back to the 13th century, granted by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
It’s perfectly located for access to Croydon town, the Centrale & Whitgift Shopping Centres (soon to be replaced by an impressive Westfield Mall), and tram links all over London and to Gatwick Airport.
Our new flats are a mixture of studios, one beds and two beds, and are available on the Help To Buy scheme, so they make ideal first-time buyers’ homes.
So how are we getting on?
We started almost from scratch when taking on Crown Hill, keeping only the facade which has stood since its redevelopment by BHS in the 1960s. Everything behind it was entirely demolished, and the flats developed as completely new. Now, the full structure has been implemented and the flats are taking shape.
Here we can just about get a peek at our site manager, Ruslan, who has everything under control.
We have an amazingly well organised site with a brilliant team, and we can’t wait to show you the final result.
